As one of B.C.’s most well-known delicacies, they are famous for their fresh, sweet, delicate flavour and firm texture. Spot prawns (Pandalus platyceros) got their name from their appearance, being a reddish-brown colour with white spots. Having a very limited season, they are only available live for a few weeks. During the rest of the year, they are available frozen whole or tails only.
